Board games have been played in most cultures and societies throughout history.
Most board games involve both luck and strategy.
A player may be hampered by a few poor rolls of the dice in Risk or Monopoly, but over many games a player with a superior strategy will win more often.

Strategy games like Chess and checkers, play is sometimes said to resemble a series of puzzles the players pose to each other.

Word Games and puzzles are generally engaged as a source of entertainment, but they have been found to serve a very useful and progressive educational purpose as well.

Countless card games exist, including families of related games (such as poker).
Some games have formally standardized rules, while rules for others can vary by region, culture, and person.

Trivial Pursuit is a board game in which progress is determined by a player's ability to answer general knowledge and popular culture questions. The game was created in 1979 by Scott Abbott and Chris Haney.
After finding pieces of their Scrabble game missing, they decided to create their own game.
Dozens of question sets have been released for the game.

Check out my page for parts and pieces. There’s nothing more annoying then only having 2 playing pieces left when 3 of you want to play, or the dog chewing half of the Monopoly money!
Here you can get houses, hotels, playing pieces and money for your Monopoly sets as well as many other parts and boards only for different games.
